Digging for Clams at Kranji

Have not been able to blog for a couple of months due to too many things including work and the Youth Olympics (I was part of the team that took care of the Central American NOCs but thats another post altogether) so on this Sat night, decided to write on something, anything....

Brought the boys to Kranji to dig for clams and shellfish. Wanted them to know the thrill of digging for clams as opposed to finding them via the Iphone or Ipad if you know what I mean.

The weather was great, albeit a bit cloudy with distant thunderclaps of the incoming rain. We started digging in a small quiet corner and before long, we got a couple of clams up. The boys were getting excited and before long, we had about 20 clams which Evan decided to cook with his instant noodles!

While we were still on the beach, we saw the carcass of a small horseshoe crab. Wondered how it died - probably due to the pollution in the straits! Lucas held it up for me to take a picture.

All in all, a great day at the beach digging for clams. Boys and I really enjoyed ourselves in digging up for lost treasures.

FYI, Evan did boil the clams and ate it with his noodles!
