I havent been writing of late. But today has been an exceptional day. For many months, I have been hunting the elusive grouper using every type of bait from live fish to prawns but to no avail.

Today, I decided to bring the boys fishing at Kyoto pond. The first couple of cast was pretty good. Had a good strike on my rubber squidies but the hook did not set. Two cast later, the lure hit a good size mangrove jack.

Lucas came over and asked to cast and lure. I let him have it and he was off, casting and luring in a rather pro manner. After the 3rd cast, he had a bit!! WOW! The fish was really pulling the line strongly. And I saw something dark brown and when the fish surfaced, it was a GROUPER!! My 9-year old did it! He hit a 2kg grouper through luring! Am so proud of him!

Today was a really good day of fishing. Hit a 3 kg Red Drum, 1 Mangrove Jack, I sea bass and off course, the prize fish of all, caught by my son, the GROUPER!! Well Done, Lucas. Am so proud of you.
